The Catalan Government maintains its willingness to hold a referendum – Sputnik World

“We have a commitment and a democratic mandate”, he recalled Turull prior to apostille that the coalition independence party, which governs in Catalonia “has a very clear” their willingness to hold a referendum on independence in 2017.

Turull regretted that Spain “opt for the path of the law” although he was convinced that the Executive Catalan “not be distracted” by the decisions of the Constitutional Court.

In an order issued this December 14, the Constitutional Court suspended the resolution of the Catalan Parliament in that we are beginning the countdown to the celebration of a referendum for September 2017 at the very latest.

This suspension is due to the admission of the last incident of execution of sentence filed by the Government of Mariano Rajoy against the resolutions nationalists.

In the opinion of the pro-independence and anti-capitalist of the Candidacy of Popular Unity (CUP), this resolution is the end of the “operation” dialog between the Executives of Spain and Catalonia.

“The State does not want dialogue and we will celebrate the referendum equally,” said Anna Gabriel, member of the CUP in the Catalan Parliament.

For its part, the Spanish minister of Justice, Rafael Catalá, said that the temporary suspension by the Constitutional Court is aware of the need for a commitment by the dialogue in front of the tracks for one side.
