MADRID (Reuters) – The alleged member of ETA, José Manuel Azkarate Ramos, a veteran of the armed band, and was on the run from Justice, has been arrested in the French town of Marseilles, reported the Ministry of the Interior.
Azkarate participated in several attacks in the 80′s, the season lasts from the violent struggle of ETA for the Basque Country independent.
The arrest of Azkarate, who was carrying false documentation, was made in a joint operation between the police, French and Spanish.
After being sentenced to 50 years in prison in the late 80′s, got several times to prison conditions, any special due to a serious illness, and in one of the last special permissions managed to flee.
The arrest comes just a month after the arrest in France of the main leader of the band, who decreed the cease-fire in 2011 after being greatly weakened by the repeated blows and judicial police in France and Spain.
