Propose to install gardens on the roofs of the buses to take care of the environment – LaCapital.com.ar

The possibility of installing gardens sustainable in the roofs of the busses of the public transport in Madrid does not seem a far-fetched idea. At least that is what was considered the mayor of that city, Manuela Carmena, who works on the selection of ideas from city employees.

This is one of the six proposals made by 32 municipal employees who worked for five months in the framework of a pilot project of the Cotec Foundation for Innovation, which has as its goal that the ideas of the municipal workers to become “possible new services for the citizens.”

This pilot test is driven by Carmena with the purpose of locate and promote the innovative talent among public employees. Of the staff were selected 32 employees and 750 proposals, work began on six.

The project “Move on green”, presented by José Antonio Antona, aims to make Madrid a “unique city” in which the regular lines of public transport are to become gardens, in the first place, the lines 27 (Glorieta de Embajadores-Plaza de Castilla) and 34 (Plaza de Cibeles-The Eagles) because running from North to South through the city and circulate in buildings of tourist interest.

The proposal includes, in addition, the coverage of green of 130 bus shelters with an environmental initiative that seeks a city “more livable,” with green areas that “move and move along Madrid with the citizens.”

The estimated cost of each garden of around 2500 euros, which could be funded by the city Council, or through the sponsorship of private entities.

After you qualify of “fantastic all-projects”, Manuela Carmela pointed out that “I’m going to do everything in my power to put them into motion.”
