President Catalan could bring forward referendum on independence – Hispan TV (press Release)

The president of the Government of Catalonia, the northeastern region of Spain, has indicated that the referendum on independence could be held earlier than planned.

The Catalan Government continues with the hope of reaching an agreement with the Executive of Spain for the celebration of a referendum on independence for the region, however, the absence of permission on the part of Madrid does not stop at the time of holding the vote, argued on Friday the president Catalan, Carles Puigdemont, in a statement to the news agency, The Associated Press (AP).

In this same line, the independence party leader even said that could bring forward the date of the vote binding, which, until now, had only as a limit, September 2017, and stressed that his government seeks to dialogue with the Executive of the Popular Party (PP) when including the referendum.

We are immersed in a relationship decadent with Spain. Our aspirations are systematically answered by a state that we should have to please, and we notice it persistently to the contrary", declared the president of the Catalan Government, Carles Puigdemont.

"We are immersed in a relationship decadent with Spain. Our aspirations are systematically answered by a state that we should have to please, and we notice it persistently to the contrary", he regretted Puigdemont, who said, to explain the roadmap for the secession from Spain, that "the well-being of Catalonia is only possible outside of the Spanish State".

The newly formed Executive 'popular', led by Mariano Rajoy, announced its willingness to open a dialogue with the leaders catalans to discuss the themes of “concrete” that affect the citizens, and also to dissuade regional authorities from continuing with their plans for independence, something that in fact considered one of its major challenges.

the ministers of The Cabinet will have to study 45 of the 46 claims that Puigdemont presented to Rajoy in the past month of April, including requests related to investment in infrastructure, education and health. The point ignored –first in the list of the president of the regional government– is precisely that which refers to the new referendum for independence of Catalonia.

however, Puigdemont had warned previously that the attempts at dialogue on the part of Rajoy and his team are nothing more than a "sham operation"dialog.

Those who reject the independence of the region argue that the Spanish Constitution does not give place to the celebration of a referendum to consider independence or to own secession of a territory of the country.

The majority of catalans, however, it supports you to perform a query, according to the latest polls which on the other hand also shows that the 7.5 million inhabitants of Catalonia are divided on the question of whether to separate or not from Spain.
