Armed men are holding a donor Spanish Red Cross in Afghanistan – Sputnik World

“it Is a cooperating Spanish that works in the north of Afghanistan that is held against your will, but we still can’t talk about sequestration because no captor has demanded a ransom”, stated from the Ministry Foreign.

According to the International Committee of the Red Cross, one of its members (whose nationality were not removed from the organization) was “hijacked” during the day on Monday in Afghanistan.

Sources of the Spanish diplomacy confirmed that the donor in question is a man of Spanish nationality, but for the moment ruled out qualifying the event as a kidnapping.

The information sent by the Red Cross explains that several members of his staff were travelling in two vehicles in Mazar-e-Sharif to Kunduz when several armed men stopped.

“One of the people of the staff was retained, while the others were allowed to continue their trip,” said the organization.

The head of delegation of the International Committee of the Red Cross in Afghanistan, Monica Zanarelli, said the organization is “doing everything possible to find out what exactly happened” and the release of the cooperating way to “safe and unconditional” as soon as possible.
