MOSCOW (Reuters) – Russia moved missiles Iskander-M with nuclear capability to the enclave of Kaliningrad, bordering Poland and Lithuania, announced the Ministry of Defence on Saturday, adding that it is testing routine involving the movement of this type of weaponry through its territory.

“These units of missiles have been deployed more than once (in the Kaliningrad region) (…) and will be deployed as part of the military training of the Russian armed forces,” said the ministry spokesman, Igor Konashenkov, said in a statement.

An official us intelligence said on Friday that Russia had begun to move the Iskander-M to its westernmost region, in what it said could be a political gesture to express his displeasure with NATO.

Konashenkov commented that one of the missiles was shown deliberately to a spy satellite of the united States.

“we did Not have long to wait. Our american partners, as confirmed by its developer effort”, he said.
