The King of Spain signed the decree that appoints Rajoy president of the Government – Sputnik World

“His Majesty the King signed the Royal Decree that sets out the appointment of Mariano Rajoy Brey as chairman of the Government”, reported the monarchical institution.

Felipe VI, held this October 30, a meeting with the president of Congress, Ana Pastor, who reported officially to the monarch and head of State the result of the vote of investiture before making the appointment of Rajoy.

The conservative leader got 170 votes in favor, with 68 abstentions and 111 against, by getting the supports he needed for a new Executive

Rajoy will have four more years to the front of the Spanish Government thanks to the support received by the parliamentarians of his party, of the 32 deputies of the liberal Citizens, of the member of coalición Canaria and the abstention of 68 deputies of the PSOE.

With this endowment, it breaks the political stalemate that was introduced in Spain from December 2015, with more than 300 days of Government in functions and two elections.

As announced by Rajoy during the night of Saturday, the next Thursday will announce the composition of his new Cabinet.
