About 220 immigrants jump barrier towards Spain – The Grandstand.hn

AFP.– About 220-saharan immigrants managed to overcome this Monday the barrier that separates Morocco from the Spanish enclave of Ceuta, where there were clashes with the forces of law and order that caused 35 injured, according to the Delegation of the government in the area.

"Showing a hostile attitude and violent and many of them armed with sticks, the immigrants attacked their passage to the agents tried to prevent the entry," stated the Delegation of the Spanish government in Ceuta in a statement.

At 06H45 local (05H45 GMT), according to the authorities, was forced to two access doors in the double barrier of six metres in height that marks the boundary of Ceuta, which together with the other Spanish exclave Melilla are the only land borders between the European Union (EU) and Africa.

Product of the crashes, three civil guards were wounded, and 32 immigrants were hospitalized with "wounds of prognosis mild," the statement said.

mostly undocumented, the people were transferred to a temporary shelter, where they can request asylum, said a spokesman for the Civil Guard.

The forces of order continue to search for some immigrants who fled to the hills surrounding, informed the delegation of the government.

To overcome the barriers that surround the Spanish enclaves in Morocco, the groups of immigrants use hooks and boots with studs.

Spain has received frequent criticism on the part of organizations of defence of human rights, which considered that it does not respect adequately the international right to asylum and to expel "hot" to immigrants, without giving them the opportunity to make an asylum application.
