Cardinal Cañizares attends this Friday the tribute to Paul VI organized by the Spanish Episcopal Conference – NoticiasReligiosas (press Release) (blog)

VALENCIA, OCT 14 (ADVANCED).- The cardinal archbishop of Valencia, Antonio Cañizares, attends today, Friday, at the Symposium and tribute in honor of Paul VI (Italy, 1897 – Castel Gandolfo (Italy), 1978), organized by the Spanish Episcopal Conference (CEE), along with the Paul VI Foundation, within the commemorative events of the 50th anniversary of the EEC.

The meeting with the intervention of the Secretary of State of the Holy see, cardinal Pietro Parolin, offered at the headquarters of the Spanish Episcopal Conference, the inaugural conference, which will be entitled "Paul VI and peace".

The rest of the sessions, which will continue also tomorrow, Saturday, will take place in the Paul VI Foundation, according to have indicated today to the agency INFEED sources of the sec.

Paul VI, beatified in the year 2014, was Pope from 1963 until his death in August 1978. Successor of st. John XXIII, he continued his work with the Vatican Council II. Equally, fostered ecumenical relations with the orthodox churches, anglican and protestant. (ADVANCED)
