The fierce gender-based violence in live and direct – The Observer

The Guardia Civil, released a video filmed on the 22nd of November for a security camera, in which you can see the violent attack with blows of a man to his bride, in San Juan de Alicante. The video was published with the consent of the victim; in it you can see how the man hits it again and again at the entrance of her apartment, up the strip to the floor. He then begins to drag her by gripping the hair.

Spend five minutes in which you can see blow after blow, the man even goes out of the lobby to make sure there are no witnesses to his violence (without even noticing that a security camera recorded the whole episode), but returns to continue the attack and the drag by the staircase taken by the hair.

The man, 22 years old, is Ukrainian. The woman, 38, was living with him as his partner for the past two. According to Guardia Civil, she is not denounced, but accepted that it released the images as a way of raising awareness about gender-based violence. In any way the Civil Guard made the complaint, ex officio, as he explained to the newspaper The Country, the spokesperson Veronica Rubio, because it is a public crime.

The video came after a neighbor of the building to review the images recorded by the security cameras. The attacker was arrested on the 23rd of November.

In Spain were murdered in 866 women in the past 13 years, as a result of gender-based violence. In 2016 were 40 victims of their partners or ex-partners.
