Catalonia: The ‘no’ to independence would impose on the ‘yes’ by a narrow margin – RT in Spanish – international News

The 45.1% of the catalans would vote against an independent State in front of the 44,9% would be in favour. As revealed by the latest survey published by the Centre d’estudis d Opinió of the government.

despite the fact that the difference between the number of supporters and opponents of the secession is very small, it highlights the change in trend compared to previous surveys, which showed that the number of catalans in favor of independence of Catalonia increased gradually.

Well, the past month of July, the ‘yes’ to independence stood at 47.7% and grew more than two-tenths in front of march, when the polls reflected a tie among the respondents who had voted in favour of secession (45.3 percent) and those who would vote against (to 45.5%).

In any case, and despite the decline in the number of supporters of the ‘yes’, the percentage of those who prefer Catalonia to remain within Spain is very far from the barometer of June, 2015, when a survey by the same centre was the ‘no’ in 50%, to more than seven-tenths of the ‘yes’ (42,9%).

This new survey also reveals that 7% of the respondents do not have clear that I would vote in a referendum of secession and 2.9 prefers not to disclose his opinion.

Another important fact that reveals this survey is that almost 40% of catalans believe that they would live better if Catalonia became independent from Spain, compared to 27% who considered that they would live worse and almost 20% believe that the situation would be the same as now.
