Zapatero ruled out to lead again the PSOE – Deutsche Welle

The president of the Spanish Government José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero said that he will support the candidacy of the socialist leader of andalusia, Susana Díaz.

In statements to the media and asked if he would support the candidacy of Susana Diaz to lead the PSOE, Zapatero has commented that this is “your decision and will” although he has underlined the “sympathy” that you feel with those who are attempting to this task that requires great determination, willingness, encouragement and support.”

Zapatero, who has supported the mayor of Alicante, Gabriel Echávarri, in an informative breakfast organized by Executive Forum, has also referred to the announcement of Pedro Sánchez retire if he doesn’t win the General Secretariat, and has commented that it seems “respectable”.

The former president has also wanted to make it clear that it is optimistic about the future of Spain -”I am very concerned about the problem of Catalonia”, it has specified – but also “on the future” of their party. “You’ll see as you’ll have a good congress and there will be a project that can compete,” he added (efe).
