January 26, 2017, 11:45Madrid, 26 oct (PL) trade union Organizations, students, and parents to Spain was summoned today to a general strike next march 9 to demand the conservative government of Mariano Rajoy to repeal its controversial law of education.

unemployment at all levels of education was announced this Thursday by the Platform State by the Public School, which brings together professors, students, and the Spanish Confederation of Associations of Parents and Mothers of Pupils (Ceapa).

At a press conference the president of the Ceapa, José Luis Pazos, asked the executive to repeal the Organic Law of Educational Quality Improvement (Lomce), passed in 2013 during the first term of the right-wing Popular Party, then with parliamentary majority.

Pazos called unacceptable the appeal presented by the administration of Rajoy before the Constitutional Court, which seeks to prevent the Congress of Deputies to deal with a legislative initiative aimed to suspend the Lomce.

The representative of the Ceapa denounced the new cuts in education claimed by the European Union (EU), when it is -said – to recover the billions of euros of investment lost during the economic crisis.

in Addition, he inveighed against any new ‘counter-reformation’ in public education, privatization and the delay, so it will begin to work the sub-committee in charge of negotiating a covenant education.

he Cautioned that the commitments of the deficit assumed by Spain with the EU may lead to a snip of ‘a thousand million euros for the education’. Maribel Loranca, of the General Workers Union, criticised the fact that the Rajoy government will continue to behave as if they still had an absolute majority in the lower House, to ignore the workers ‘ representatives of the teaching.

unable to bring forward a covenant on the foundation of a law rejected widely from the point of view of social and political, he added, in allusion to the Lomce, qualified as elitist and exclusionary by the entire educational community.

The Organic Law of Educational Quality Improvement, stipulates that, at the end of the fourth course of secondary school and the second year of high school, students must undertake a controversial final exams, which will have to pass in order to receive the corresponding title.

If you suspended those tests, known as reválidas, will be without the degree, even if they have passed all the courses, according to the Lomce.

The 9th of march will be the third general strike of the sector in the participating parents, students and teachers from that which governs Rajoy.
