Condemned to prison by Spanish singer César Strawberry by tweets offensive – Univision

The vocalist of the Spanish grouping of hip-hop Def With Two will be a year behind bars for several offensive messages on Twitter.

César Augusto Mountain, better known as Caesar Strawberry, lead singer of the Spanish group of Def con Dos, has been sentenced to a year in prison for messages on his Twitter account that ” enhance terrorism” and ” humiliation of victims“.

The musician published “tweets” between November 2013 and January 2014 with messages directed to several people, but particularly to Jose Antonio Ortega Lara, prison warden kidnapped by the separatist group, the ETA in 1996 for more than 530 days.

Published message as that “we would have to kidnap him now.” In another message, one user said “it is almost the birthday of the King. What a feeling!”. Another person says: "you already have the gift prepared no? What are you going to give?”. To which he responded: “a roulade-bomb.”

The Supreme Court of Spain took this decision considering that his messages “feed on hate speech, legitimize terrorism as a formula for the solution of the social conflicts and, more importantly, compel the victim to the memory of the searing experience of the threat, kidnapping or murder of a close family member”.

Since the singer had been acquitted in June last year by the first section of the Penal of the Audiencia Nacional, since they considered that their messages formed part of their artistic side, and could not be considered hate speech. However, the prosecutor has now decided to have recourse to the Supreme, who agreed with them.

The Supreme Court decided to apply the penalty under the provisions of the act and that, even if they wanted to lower more the sentence, it is not possible to consider less serious what he did, given the spread that made their messages through social networks. The judgment also convicted to 6 years and 6 months of total disqualification.

After receiving his sentence, Caesar Strawberry turned to their social networks to talk about it and acknowledge the support of their fans, as well as touching on the important subject of the freedom of expression.

The group Def con Dos emerged in 1990 as one of the pioneer groups of hip-hop in Spanish. They composed the main themes of the films of the director Alex de la Iglesia, ” Mutant“, 1993 and ” the day of the beast“, 1996.

Among his productions are ” Spain is idiot“, 2013 and ” Two Tenors Def“, 2014.
