the Executive Committee of the Spanish Episcopal Conference, on behalf of all Spanish bishops, recognizes and appreciates the path of His Majesty King Juan Carlos I , their generous dedication and contribution to the recent history of Spain, in particular to the establishment and consolidation of democratic life, with particular relevance during the period of political transition.


 

 

His service to Spain has been of extraordinary value. We are confident that now have continuity in the person of Prince of Asturias, Don Felipe de Borbon y Grecia , who has already proved his qualifications and competence, as we have seen in different presences in public life .


 

 

We pray God to continue to hold to their Majesties the King and Queen, Don Juan Carlos and Doña Sofia , in this new stage of their lives, and to assist the Crown of Spain in the Constitution has entrusted service.
