The former president of the Spanish government José María Aznar announced today that it will file a complaint with the Attorney General of the State by disclosure of tax data, after several media have reported that he was fined by the Treasury.

In recent days the Spanish media have echoed that the Spanish Tax Agency imposed a fine of 70,403.96 Aznar (about $ 79,000) euros and forced him to pay a settlement complementary to 199,052.19 euros (about $ 225,000) for various tax irregularities in 2011 and 2012.

through its website Aznar said today that has left a few days “waiting for someone to give appropriate explanations for public handling of tax information” relating to its activity.

Given that there has been such explanations from the Treasury, Aznar has chosen to go to court to “misinformation, slander and falsehoods, once again pour” against him.

“I have decided that my lawyers filed a complaint with the Attorney General of the State by disclosure of tax data, asserting the right to confidentiality to every taxpayer, subject to take any other legal action it deems appropriate, “says the president of the Government.

she notes that the Tax Agency made in 2013 a tax check on their income tax returns and the corporate tax submitted by a firm that shares with his wife, exalcaldesa of Madrid Ana bottle concerning the years 2009 and 2010.

the checks “pursuant closed in 2014,” added the president, who ruled Spain between 1996 and 2004 with the PP (center-right) .

is “slanderous talk of fraud, since all income and all expenses have been fully declared in all the exercises.”

Therefore, the president stressed that “has absolutely no truth any statement intended to shed any suspicions about compliance with any tax liability” and remember that the media and published in 2014 “that had made such a tax verification and had closed pursuant”.
