Detained two suspected jihadists in Valladolid and Murcia – Reuters Spain

MADRID (Reuters) – The National Police in spain has arrested two men of moroccan nationality resident in Valladolid and Murcia accused of supporting the Islamic State (EI), said the Ministry of Interior on Monday.

the first of The detainees wanted to join in the ranks of the EI in Syria after a frustrated attempt to travel to the country in war with a view to undergo a training to commit “terrorist acts” in Europe, according to a press release of Interior.

The other arrested allegedly would have helped the first to travel to the conflict zone and had to be protected after his arrest at the Turkish border and return to Spain.

The operation, that continues open, is framed in the reinforcement of the security measures in Spain against jihadi settled in the country and to prevent the radicalization of muslim citizens young people.

last week, the Police arrested two young spaniards for alleged offences of glorifying jihadist and threats.

so far this year, have been practiced more than 30 arrests in Spain linked to islamist extremism.
