Cassini shows another face of Saturn – Milenio.com

The Cassini spacecraft, NASA sent their latest photos of the atmosphere of Saturn in which is seen the aspect of power in the form of a hexagon that exists in the northern hemisphere of the gas giant.

Cassini is in the final stage of its useful life and the past 30 of November began the penultimate phase of its mission, in the stage “Ring-Grazing Orbits”, in which it is expected that each week the spacecraft to complete an orbit and observe the atmosphere of the Northern hemisphere, and the outer face of the ring interior of the planet.

These latest images were taken after 2 and 3 December, two days before its last next to the rings.

Launched almost 20 years ago from Cape Canaveral, Cassini will pass along to the outer edges of the rings every seven days. The ship will make 20 raids until April, looking at some of the numerous minilunas of Saturn, and even taking samples of particles of the rings.

it Will be the last mission of Cassini before falling into Saturn in September.
