Sanchez resigns as secretary general of the PSOE – Hispan TV (press Release)

Pedro Sanchez has resigned Saturday as general secretary of the PSOE, after its defeat at the federal committee of his party.

Before announcing his resignation, Pedro Sánchez has taken the word in the federal committee, to whom has defended his proposal, and that the PSOE had to present an alternative.

“For me it has been a source of pride, and I put in my resignation. It has been an honor”, has pronounced this Saturday, Sanchez, up to now general secretary of the Spanish Socialist Worker’s Party, after 133 against 107 members to vote against his proposal, to hold a special congress preceded by primary revalidaran his leadership.

Pedro Sanchez has thanked the work of your executive for the work done. “Is proud to be a militant of the PSOE,” he said.

“For me it has been a source of pride, and I put in my resignation. It has been an honor,” said Pedro Sanchez.

After this resignation, according to have confirmed sources socialists, the president of the regional government of Asturias, Javier Fernández, will lead a management committee that is going to take the reins of the socialist party until the next congress.
