Catalan government denounces persecution against elected representatives – Chronicle Live

BARCELONA.- The Catalan government sent a letter to the High Commissioner to the UN Human Rights and Council of Europe denouncing"the persecution of the elected representatives that support creation of an independent state".

The director general of Afers Multilateral i Europeus of the Departament d Outside of the Generalitat, Manuel Manonelles, sent the cards on 31 August the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, Zeid Ra’ad Al Hussein, to the responsible commissioner to the Americas, Europe and Central Asia, Gianni Magazzeni, and the Commissioner for Human Rights of the Council of Europe, Nils Muiznieks.

In these letters, the Catalan government announced "the measures that the future Catalan government, be applied with the objective of safeguarding the fundamental rights affected by the decisions of the Spanish State".

The Resolution I / XI of the Parliament of Catalonia declared "solemnly the beginning of the process of creation of a Catalan State, in the form of a Republic", as announced by the La Vanguardia. (CHECK – Agencies)
