M adrid . The party of interim president in Spain met Wednesday to decide whether to accept the conditions that are looking for a small party in exchange for their support to form a government and put an end to eight months of political paralysis.
it is expected that the Popular party supports in principle the six conditions of Citizens, a related party to private initiative, and give the green light to Mariano Rajoy to negotiate a deal.
but even with the support of Citizens, Rajoy will need the support or abstention of other parties to pass a vote of confidence in Congress, and that seems unlikely.
the PP in the power since 2011, rules on an
interim basis since December, after two elections gave no clear results. Rajoy’s party won the majority of legislative seats, but lost the absolute majority it had.
