Rajoy PP mayor banned for 13 months for disobedience – El Universal (Venezuela)

Valladolid, Spain .- The acting mayor of the Spanish city of Valladolid, the conservative Francisco Javier Leon de la Riva, was sentenced for a crime of disobedience for breaking a sentence, which is their political disqualification for 13 months, according to Spanish media reported today.

The ruling comes after local and regional elections held on Sunday in Spain, where the mayor, 69, lost first absolute majority and thus, the chances of returning to rule in Valladolid (north), to forge a shaped by Executive leftist parties, DPA reported.

De la Riva, one of the most controversial mayors of the ruling Popular Party (PP) Mariano Rajoy, was sentenced to delay for nearly five years the implementation of a court ruling requiring him to demolish some irregular penthouses constructed in a building he owns a home.

Although the judgment is not final result in the immediate disqualification itself, so it might not be councilor of the opposition in the city council.
