Princess of Asturias received first communion – Vanguardia.com.mx

Madrid, España.- Surrounded by his parents and grandparents, Princess Leonor de Asturias confessed to the media that she was happy but “very nervous” when he received his first communion today with their classmates in the parish Assumption of Our Madrid lady.

The heir to the Spanish throne received the sacrament in a discreet private ceremony, as a child. Instead of the traditional white dress, wearing the dress uniform of the center -falda gray, white shirt with tie and dark blue jacket with embroidery shield and braid hair to the side.

Leonor, nine years, came to the temple accompanied by their parents, Felipe and Letizia kings, and his sister Sophie, a year and a few months younger. Also they attended the ceremony his four grandparents, King Juan Carlos and Sofia, and Jesus Ortiz and Paloma Rocasolano, besides his great-grandmother and the current wife of Ortiz.

Dozens of residents waited next to the journalists arrival of the royal family. After the ceremony, the Zarzuela not distribute information or official photographs considering it a private event, the Princess posed with their parents and grandparents.

“He will celebrate at home,” she replied the little when questioned by reporters, while Philip just said that everything had been “perfect”.

Leonor today became the first heir to the Crown receiving communion as any other child. Also he broke the tradition of celebrating this sacrament on May 30, day of San Fernando, as did his father and his aunts, Princesses Elena and Cristina. In all three cases, the venue was the chapel of the palace of Zarzuela.
