A judge in Spain on Sunday denied bail seven alleged members of a jihadist cell inciting the commission of terrorist attacks in the country and recruiting fighters for the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria.
The judge Javier Gómez Bermúdez, the National Court questioned during most of the day at eight suspects arrested Friday; He freed one and ordered the prison to the other seven.
Gómez Bermúdez must decide whether to continue the investigation or sets the date for the start of the trial of detainees, who have Spanish nationality and five are of Moroccan origin.
Police launched since June 2014 research on jihadist cell and gathered evidence that formed at least 10 members, the judge said.
Gómez Bermúdez said the alleged leader of the cell whose name was kept Fed does having a website in which incited jihadist terrorism and had a video entitled “Training the Islamic State in Spain” at the time of his arrest.
The police made arrests in the provinces of Barcelona and Girona and in the towns of Avila and Ciudad Real, in the center of the country.
The detainees allegedly involved in an intense propaganda campaign in favor of jihad in the immigrant community in Spain, particularly among Moroccan origin.
Spain have arrested dozens of suspected militants and recruiters in recent years.
Most of the arrests were carried out in Ceuta and Melilla, two Spanish enclaves in North Africa to around Morocco, south, and the Mediterranean Sea to the north.
On Tuesday, a judge jailed a woman accused of belonging to the group Islamic State while police announced to have neutralized a jihadist cell with the arrest of two people in Ceuta who allegedly were part of a group seeking the committing attacks.
