Ciudad Victoria, Tamaulipas .- The Secretary of Urban Development and Environment (SEDUMA), Humberto Salinas René Treviño, led Thursday March 26 the installation session of the State Committee Forest Fire Protection for the 2015 season.
In the boardroom of SEDUMA the agreement for the organization, procedures, responsibilities and availability of resources to prevent, control and extinguish forest fires, preserving the protection of the population and natural resources of the state was established.
Salinas Treviño said that in line with the plan promoted by the Federal Government in strengthening inter-agency coordination to the attention of forest fires, as well as pushing the Governor Egidio Torre Cantú, close coordination will have to face this season .
For its part, the General Coordinator of Civil Protection, Medardo Sanchez Albarran, released the summary of the 2014 campaign, in which he reported that as a result of weather conditions and coordination of the three branches of government, forest brigades, ejido and civil associations in Tamaulipas 11 casualties were reported.
That figure placed the company in fourth nationally with fewer fires and the number of burned surface, is ranked first with an affectation of 64.50 hectares.
Sanchez Albarran said that this year the work of suppression began to timely respond to conflagrations to preserve life and ecosystems.
Abelardo Saldivar Fitzmaurice, state manager of the National Forestry Commission in the state, said this year the Government of the Republic made training Incident Command System for Coordination, integrating a specialized agency team that has been prepared on the 15 positions and functions that need to manage and combat a fire of great magnitude.
He added that for the current year is the availability of forest have equipped and prepared brigades and fire units for care of contingencies.
In the same act agreed set to host the Fire Management Center facilities the State Coordination of Civil Protection.
At installation of the Committee attended Salinas Aureliano Peña, chief of the PROFEPA; Horacio del Angel Castillo, Subdelegate SEMARNAT; Valeriano García Madero, representative of the Ministry of Rural Development; Sergio Ceseña Gibert, inspector of the Federal Police and representatives of the Secretariat of National Defense.
