The Prime Minister of Tunisia, Habib Essid, had announced hours before 17 deaths among tourists had at least one Spanish. After contact with the Embassy of Spain in Tunisia and the health authorities, García-Margallo raised the number to two.
According to the Spanish Minister, victims could be part a group of 90 Spanish tourists who had come to Tunisia in two cruisers, although so far no confirmation.
“I think so were part of that crew, but I can not confirm one hundred percent” , told reporters.
García-Margallo reiterated the conviction of Spain to attack, expressed hours before through a statement by the Government of Mariano Rajoy.
“I want to express the horror and indignation not only the government but of all the Spanish people for the injustice of this new demonstration of the terrorist barbarity “he added in a press conference.
In the statement released by its area, the Executive Spanish moved its condolences to the families of all the victims of the attack and the citizens of Tunisia and showed solidarity with the country’s authorities “in the fight against terrorism”.
The Spanish Interior Minister Jorge Fernandez Diaz, said in remarks to reporters in Barcelona he moved to Tunis area specialized in counter-terrorism to gather information on the ground police.

Also the Spanish Socialist Workers Party (PSOE), the most significant opposition in Spain, condemned the attack and sent a message of support for the Tunisian people.
Foreign activated the protocol consular emergencies after learning the events that took place in Tunisia during the morning.
The attack began with a shooting in the square where are located the Parliament of Tunisia and the Bardo Museum, one of the most visited of the country. The attackers entered the museum and took several hostages. Security forces in Tunisia ended the assault.
