Four arrested in Spain the alleged ETA prisoners environment – Terra Colombia

Four people were arrested Wednesday in the Basque Country in northern Spain, on suspicion of coordinated transmission slogans ETA prisoners to ensure that the armed organization maintain a united front, officials announced.

“The detainees were part of a coordination designed and led by ETA,” said Spanish Interior Ministry said in a statement.

It was from this “coordination group”, designated by the initials “KG” from its name in Basque, where “the strategy that should be followed by the various organizations within the ‘front of prisons’ was defined of the terrorist organization, “he adds.

Also, “the action lines moved forward to maintain the unity of action of that front,” the ministry said.

The term ‘front of prisons’ primarily refers to members of the armed group prisoners who respect their slogans.

These slogans are, according to the Spanish authorities and the police, especially transmitted by their lawyers, several of which were the subject of arrests in recent years.

A raid in January in this environment led to the suspension of trial in Madrid of 35 alleged members of Batasuna, the banned political party in Spain in 2003 to be considered political wing of ETA.

The Interior Ministry gave the names and initials of the four people arrested on Wednesday morning, three women and one man, three-San Sebastián Basque towns, Zamudio and Campezo- and Pamplona in Navarra, also in northern Spain.

Immediately, the organization of defense of prisoners Etxerat denounced the arrests, writing “No criminalization” in Twitter.

ETA is considered responsible for the deaths of 829 people in more than 40 years of attacks on the independence of the Basque Country and Navarre. The organization announced on October 20, 2011 “definitive cessation of its armed activity”, but refuses to dissolve as you require governments in Madrid and Paris.
