At a ceremony in Brussels, Proximus (Belgacom before), the leader of Belgium in telecommunications and the first operator in the world to deploy a network of VDSL2 Vectoring nationwide provider celebrated a year of successful operations with the prize ” gold line “Alcatel-Lucent, to represent this historic milestone of 10 million lines. This he achieved in the last quarter of 2014, just three years after Alcatel-Lucent launched the first solution VDSL2 vectoring.
Alcatel-Lucent currently has 27 VDSL2 vectoring networks in all regions of the world, including Bezeq in Israel, KPN in the Netherlands, Telecom Argentina, Telecom Italia, TE Data in Egypt and NBN Co. in Australia, with over 65 t ests commercial technology by operators.
VDSL2 Vectoring technology enables operators to deploy ultra broadband services to more than 100 Megabits per second over their existing copper telephone networks, making faster and cheaper deployment as an add fiber to the home (FTTH). As a result, operators can quickly meet growing customer demand for high definition television, video on demand and online games while protecting existing investments.
