Madrid accuses the president of Catalonia not know how to govern – El Universal (Venezuela)

Madrid .- The Spanish government Friday accused the president of Catalonia Artur Mas of being” unable to govern “after he announced the call for early elections to take your region towards independence.

But on Wednesday announced early elections for September 27, for the second time since 2012, hoping to muster a majority of votes and then impose the secession of Catalonia, which produces a fifth of the richness of Spain, AFP reported.

“When a ruler is not able to finish once its mandate but constantly resort to this system [early elections] is because it is unable to govern,” said the spokesman and Deputy Prime Minister Soraya Saenz de Santamaria.

“The president Mas tries to buy time at the expense of losing the Catalans do,” said conservative number two executive at a press conference after the Council of Ministers .

“It’s unprecedented call elections to eight months away. What worries me is what you are going to spend these eight months because the situation of the Spanish and Catalan needs of governments which are assets that contribute to the recovery, “he said.

The vice president also announced that his government will continue bringing to justice all measures of Catalan executive who exceed their powers.

Some of these could be the creation of a tax administration or social security system itself that Mas wants to pass before the elections to pave the way for an independent state.

The Catalan president and two members of his government are being investigated for organizing a symbolic referendum on independence despite the ban decreed by the Constitutional Court.

In that vote, the November 9, 1.9 million of the 6.3 million potential voters in Catalonia were in favor of secession.

moderate nationalist, he embraced Mas independence as the growing support for the cause in Catalonia since 2010 with impressive demonstrations. Many Catalans feel mistreated by the Government of Madrid, a feeling spurred further by the economic crisis.
