MADRID, España.- The Anticorruption Prosecutor of Spain yesterday asked 42 and a half years in prison for Luis Barcenas , former treasurer of the Popular Party (PP), which the Spanish president belongs, Mariano Rajoy . The Justice presumably is involved in Barcenas, one of the largest bribery and corruption scandals in the history of Spain, which was uncovered in 2009, amid economic and financial crisis “Gürtel case.”
The crimes he is accused Bárcenas are tax fraud, bribery, money laundering, forgery, embezzlement and attempted procedural fraud.
The resonant case splashes the party of Spanish president for five years when he began the judicial investigation in the High Court.
