Madrid.- The Spanish prime minister, Mariano Rajoy, labeled a” evidence of failure “the call made by the regional president of Catalonia Artur Mas anticipate elections within eight months.

The lack of solid majorities caused the two legislatures have passed Artur Mas just two years duration each, failing to realize promises, as the fiscal pact or the holding of a referendum on independence in the region.

The leader of the Socialist Party of Catalonia, Miquel Iceta warned that the EU will not accept the outcome of elections as an independence referendum.

“In Europe no one will accept as independence verdict on the outcome of parliamentary elections,” Iceta, who accused Mas “trick” the Catalans to submit regular elections and referendum said.
