The Civil Guard rescues 50 migrants off the coast of Almería – Reuters Spain

MADRID (Reuters) – the Civil Guard has rescued during the afternoon of Wednesday, a total of 50 immigrants who were drifting in two boats in waters off the coast of Almeria .

in a press release, the Civil Guard said Thursday the first of the rescues occurred early in the afternoon, when their ocean vessel “River Miño” sighted, about 23 nautical miles south of the island of Alboran an inflatable boat about 4 meters length with 6 men on board, apparently of Moroccan origin.

Later nearby a second inflatable boat, blue and 7 meters in length, which traveled 44 people of sub-Saharan origin, of which 10 were women was located.

the Civil Guard said the vessel, deployed as part of operations to the European Agency for Control of External Borders Frontex carried out in the Mediterranean, intervened immediately because of the danger they were both boats to bad sea conditions and strong wind.
