The government wants to recover taxes vetted by TC – Pysn People and Society News

News of Spain

The Department of Economy and Finance of the Government has decided to initiate the parliamentary procedure to approve two of lying back taxes by the Court Constitution: the bank deposits and nuclear power plants. The first had to generate revenue expected 635 million, while the second had a much lower dimension of only 43 million fund.

The Department of Finance said yesterday that “is studying the most appropriate formula” to avoid the veto of the TC. The Constitutional lay the tax on bank deposits considering that taxes the same as that of the State for an identical concept (although the state tax is virtually nonexistent type). Now the government says it will seek ways that “the new tax is compatible with the tax on financial institutions”, although no concrete how to do it.

in the same vein, the objective for nuclear tax “is to redesign the tax to avoid double taxation interpretations,” said Oriol Junqueras department heads. This tribute was lying by the TC in April.

In the same statement, Economics reported that remade the tax on large surfaces, declared illegal by Brussels for more than a year ago after considering a covert aid to small businesses. The European Commission ruled that the tax was to be eliminated, but now the Government wants to avoid this lock being designed differently. According to lead the government, the tax now pose as a rate of environmental considerations because it believes that a large surface displacements forced to do private transportation, which generates pollution.

Simultaneously, it was also reported that another disputed tax, the emissions of the aircraft, which is currently suspended (but not lying) by the Constitutional Court will be changed. This tribute was frozen automatically when the TC agreed to hear the appeal by the government against the creation of this tax, but the high court has not yet ruled on its legality.

Finally, to complete the package of tax changes, the Government reported that also modify the so-called tourist tax, levied on overnight hotel stays. Last month, the Government has already announced it wanted to introduce changes to increase revenue. Treasury Secretary, Lluís Salvadó said at the time that changes would be made “in consensus with the industry.” Subsequently, the Minister of Enterprise, Jordi Baiget, denied that this was an option. Finally, the project has received the green light from the government.
