Spain, ready to elect their next president – Newscasts Televisa

MADRID, Spain, jun. 22, 2016.- Thirty-seven million Spaniards are invited this Sunday to the general election to see who will be the next President of Spain for the next four years.

If we look at the polls, Sunday’s result will be very similar to the elections on 20 December. The Popular Party of Mariano Rajoy, will win, although less deputies. The radical left party Podemos, who joined the Communist Party, forming the Unidos Podemos coalition, would become the second political force, surpassing the Socialist Party.

As a fourth political force, is the party Citizens center with Albert Rivera young leader at the head.

the Spanish parliamentary system is different from presidentialism in these regimes a president is chosen. Spanish is not the case. In Spanish, they are chosen few deputies and they in turn vote in Parliament for the next President of the Government, which always coincides with the political party that has achieved greater number of deputies.

Once which has become the Parliament, the party’s candidate with the highest number of deputies must be elected by at least 176 MPs. That way you get an absolute majority. If not, a second ballot will just needed more votes from MPs in favor than against. It is what is called a simple majority.

The problem that arises in these elections, as happened in the elections of December 20 is that no party will win a majority loose enough to that vote and thus to form a government. What would happen then? Have no choice but to agree with other political parties to persuade them and vote the proposed candidate as Prime Minister.

But here collide with wall. None of the four leading candidates, Mariano Rajoy, Pedro Sanchez, Pablo Iglesias and Albert Rivera, are willing to give. Perhaps, because everyone wants power.

So they can not be ruled a third elections that could take place at Christmas. Sure, that’s the last thing you want in Spain. Having to repeat the elections has given a bad image to the country, and the economy has stalled. All this time, he finally emerged from a recession and macro finance began to pick up.

On Sunday the result will be known.
