They remade 150 priests priestly promises – Heraldo de Chihuahua

Chihuahua, Chihuahua.- The Archbishop Don Constancio Miranda Weckmann preside holding a Chrism Mass at the Metropolitan Cathedral of Chihuahua, which consecrate the Holy Chrism and the oils with which they are anointed catechumens, the receive the sacrament of Communion and sick.

In addition, the 150 priests of the diocese of Chihuahua renew their priestly promises, at the invitation of the Archbishop of reviving his consecration to Christ and the Holy Church, where they promise solemnly linked more closely to Christ, to be his fi eles ministers, teach and offer the holy sacrifice in his name and tirelessly to fulfill the mission of evangelizing.

It is noteworthy that, ordinarily the Chrism Mass is celebrated on Holy Thursday, the same day the washing of the feet and the institution of the Church of Jesus Christ is celebrated; however, by tradition in the Diocese of Chihuahua, it was held on Holy Tuesday.

Back to the liturgical celebration, each of the parishes, chaplaincies temples and receive the oils to be used during the year, until the next Easter.

The meaning representing the Chrism, is that with him are anointed the newly baptized and are unsigned those receiving confirmation; the oil of catechumens is to have the christening and the sick, it is to alleviate disease.
