IAEA calls for the strengthening global security risk of nuclear terrorism – Information Plano

“Terrorism is extended and can not exclude the possibility of using nuclear materials.”

The director of the International Agency for Atomic Energy (IAEA), Yukiya Amano, called Friday states to “strengthen security” against the risk of “nuclear terrorism”, three days after the attacks Brussels.

“Member states should have an interest in strengthening nuclear security,” said Amano “Terrorism is extended and can not exclude the possibility of using nuclear materials,” he added.

Amano’s remarks come just a day after the European Parliament issued a statement warning that the Islamic state may be planning to attack with chemical, radiological, biological and nuclear weapons the European mainland. In fact, the European Union recommends Member States to be “on alert” about this possibility or other explosives as has happened in Brussels and Paris.

“The Islamic State has promised that future attacks are more lethal and even more shocking. This has led experts to warn that the group could be planning to acquire weapons of mass detrucción internationally banned in future attacks” the statement said.
