About the Passion and the Crucifixion – El Diario de Yucatan

Easter, suitable time for reflection and transcendental moment in the life of a Catholic. The important thing about this time is sadly not remember what Christ suffered, but to understand why he died and rose again. It is to celebrate and make current delivery to death for our sakes and the power of His Resurrection, which is the first fruits of ours. On Holy Thursday we remember the Last Supper of Jesus with his apostles in which they washed the feet giving an example of service and humility. At the Last Supper Jesus stayed with us in the species of bread and wine, he left us his body and blood. We also recall the institution of the Eucharist and the priesthood. The Easter Triduum begins with the evening Mass of the Lord’s Supper, where the institution of the Eucharist is commemorated. Jesus took bread and wine: presentation of the gifts three elements that will be important in Holy Mass stand out. He broke the bread: the breaking of the bread. He gave it to his disciples. Moment of Communion

On the Friday we remember the Passion and Crucifixion of Jesus Christ. San Juan, the eyewitness to what happened on Calvary, tells us the time of the crucifixion: “Near the cross of Jesus were his mother and his mother’s sister, Mary the wife of Cleophas, and Mary Magdalene. When Jesus saw his mother and the disciple whom he loved, he says to his mother: Woman, behold your son. Then he said to the disciple, Behold your mother. And from that hour the disciple took her into his home. ” (Jn. 19: 25-27)

San Juan is the only apostle present at the death of Christ is the apostle who receives an inheritance to nothing less than the mother of God: Jesus in John us inherited. We have us Mom Mother of the Savior to the Virgin Mary. We should be happy that we have our mother, Mary, the Mother of all humanity

The beloved disciple, in his Gospel, tells the last moments of the Passion of Jesus Christ. “Jesus knew that all he had been fulfilled and that the scripture might be fulfilled, said, “I thirst.” There was a jar full of sour wine. They put it on a reed sponge full of the drink and approached his lips. When he had tasted the wine, Jesus said, “It is finished.” He bowed his head and gave up his spirit “. (Jn. 19: 28-30).

Jesus said on the cross “It is finished.” Jesus took to the last drop, the cup of sorrow, that the Father had put into his hands, it was the Savior we need. It is accomplished the work of the Son of God, passing through the land, which should not be a new creation of the world. It is fulfilled earthly existence of the Son of God made man and his seed planted on earth the new man will emerge. Now begins a new stage of history, the time of the new covenant of God with humanity. The spirit will be communicated to the Church, so the evangelist St. John mentions: “Jesus gave up his spirit”, a word that also means:. The gift of his Spirit

After the body of Jesus is taken down of the cross and laid in a new tomb; therefore the Catholic faithful must not stay in the Passion and Death of Jesus; that is, on Good Friday Fe must travel with the biggest night of history. The Resurrection of Jesus Christ
