In an informative breakfast held during the morning of this Monday in Madrid, organized by the Europa Press agency, the president of the Catalan government, Carles Puigdemont, has been open to negotiate with the central Government date, the conditions and the possible questions for an upcoming referendum for independence of Catalonia.
According to the newspaper ‘The Country’, Puigdemont calls for a clear question and binary, to “not create confusion”, as for example: “do you want Catalonia to be an independent State, yes or no?”, although the representative Catalan has admitted that there could be “several formulas” not so direct. In that regard, he offered this: “do you Want Catalonia to initiate a process of separation?”, that would imply, to agree on the opening of a slower process and dialogued.

“Our priority is to reach an agreement with the State, would be held inside and outside of Spain, it would be political and would solve two variables encysted:the the situation in Catalonia but also the governance in Spain”, has also pointed out Puigdemont, as stated in this case the journal ‘The Reason’. Although the fund Puigdemont is realistic and recognizes that “it is evident that the State is not going to recognize”, is optimistic with the “political effects” which would have the debate later in case there was an opinion popular of course in favour of independence: “if the result is clear, no one will be able to look to another part.”
