MADRID, 4 (ANSA) – “Nobody is going to break Spain”, said today harshly the president of that country, Conservative Mariano Rajoy, a day after the chief executive of Catalonia convened for 27 September to early elections, emerging as a plebiscite on independence.
“Nobody is going to break Spain in any way. Nobody is going to turn citizens of Catalonia foreigners in their own country, “added the president from Huelva, south, where he takes a summer break.
But the decree signed on Monday call for elections that are early elections within 14 months of the date on which they were provided, but seeks to transform into a referendum on the independence of the region.
Rajoy says his environment, has no objection to the advancement of the elections, but set clear position on the covert character that attaches Mas.
