Spainreceived3.54millioncruisepassengersinthefirsthalf,representinga8.66%increaseoverthesameperiodlastyear,accordingtofiguresreleasedbytheStatePorts,representinganewrecordsurpassingthelatestdatain2014thatcametocount32millioncruisepassengers.
TheportsoftheCanaryIslandscontinuetoincreasetheirmarketshareandnowaccountfor31.6%ofthetotal(1.11millioncruisepassengers),saidports.
Forhispart,theAtlanticports,excludingCanaries,accountfor10.6%(375,781passengers),withBayofCadiz,VigoandACoruñathemostpopulardestinations,astheycaptured83%ofmovements(311,682passengers).
However,thegrowthoftheAtlanticportsis19.7%muchhigherthantheCanaryIslands(+9.4%)andtheMediterranean(+6.5%).
FromJanuarytoJunereached1,646Spanishportscruiseleast14shipsofthistype,whichis0.86%higherthanayearago.
AccordingtotheStatePortsexplains,thevolumeofpassengershipisnowbetween3,500and4,500passengership,comparedtopastdecadesthatrangedbetween2,500and3,500traveler,causingtheincreaseinpassengertrafficisnotreflectedasthenumberofships.
Thecruiseaccountedformorethan30.3%ofallpassengersmadelandfallinSpanishportsinthefirstsixmonthsofyear,reaching11.67million,up2.26%fromthetotalshippingtravelersayearearlier.

Inthisranking,thelatestreportfromSeatrade,Italytoppedthelistasmostvisitedcountryinnineports,followedbySpainthatplacedsevenports,withashareof16.8%and5m2millioncruisepassengers,followedbyGreece(five),GermanyandFrance(threeeach).
