Suman 4 people dead after plane crash in Seville – Universal

A Airbus A400M military transport crashed Saturday near the Spanish city of Seville killing Four of the six people on board , reported a local authority.

“. Iban six people aboard the aircraft, of which four have died Two other people were injured, one conscious, who is in hospital, and another person who has been more seriously injured,” said a spokeswoman for the southern region of Andalusia.

After the accident, Seville airport was closed, but the afternoon was beginning to operate normally, said a spokesman for the Spanish airport authority AENA. The Spanish prime minister, Mariano Rajoy, revealed that the dead were Spanish and working for Airbus and not for the Army.

A Defense Ministry spokesman had said previously that the A400M, which was on a test flight, belonged to Airbus and had not been delivered to the Spanish Army.

Airbus would not comment on possible causes of the accident and just simply said that a team of the company was on the way to Seville to cooperate with local authorities.

According to Spanish newspaper El País and World , the plane crashed into a high-voltage tower near the airport.

The accident is a new setback for the European defense project, which required strong support in 2010 after several delays in the delivery and development of military components.

It was not immediately possible to ascertain whether as a result of the accident would end the test flights this model or whether it would have any impact on the operations of the A400M in Britain, France, Germany and Turkey.

The aircraft is designed to facilitate the movement of troops and heavy military equipment into remote battle sites or to help in humanitarian missions.
