A teacher died and four people were injured when attacked by a student who burst into a teaching institute Barcelona (northeast) armed with a crossbow, told Efe sources close to the case.
The alleged offender , minor, has been arrested by police, sources said.
The incident occurred about 09.15 am (0715 GMT), when the student arrived late to class, in Joan Fuster Institute of Catalan capital, knocked on the door and a teacher opened, at which time he took the crossbow and shot near the face, causing several injuries.
Witnesses said the young man also shot a student in that class, the professor’s daughter.
On hearing the screams, a professor of next class came to the place and the student shot the chest, wound that caused his death.
Then the attacker entered another class and assaulted another student with the knife he was carrying, the sources said.
The number of injured rises to four, none of them in serious condition, according to sources.
Fearing that the young continue attacking other people, other Teachers confined to students in their classes.
