Las Palmas, April 15 ( EFE ) .- The president of the Canary Islands, Paulino Rivero (CC) today demanded the central government “transparency” about the operations being carried out in southern Gran Canaria after the collapse of the Russian trawler “Oleg Naydenov” and recognize: “We are blind information”
Speaking to reporters. Rivero has indicated that the Central Government has not yet sent them any information and, therefore, the Directorate General of Emergency and Security of the autonomous community has demanded explanations about what happened.
Before participating in a forum Business organized by the newspaper La Provincia, the canary president has insisted on demanding “maximum clarity” about the circumstances of the sinking of the Russian fishing, which has sunk tonight 15 miles south of Maspalomas after being towed to sea with fire on board.
Before this incident, Rivero has returned to claim that the Canaries is empowered to exercise control over the waters surrounding the archipelago and says that in this case there is a “clear risk” a possible oil spill.
