Recovered 22 bodies in a small boat loaded immigrants in the Mediterranean – Terra Peru

The bodies of 22 migrants were found today aboard a boat in the central Mediterranean when it was assisted by rescue teams, Doctors Without Borders (MSF) reported.

The source specified that the corpses belonged to twenty women and one man.

They were assisted two pneumatic board which boats traveling 209 people were rescued and one of the boats, was where the bodies, which were at the base were found the barge and into a “pool of fuel.”

Among the 209 survivors were 50 minors and 45 of them were unaccompanied.

In the rescue device MSF participated media and humanitarian association “SOS Mediterranée”.

“When our team reached the first barge, saw corpses lying at the base of the boat in a puddle of fuel,” he said in a statement the head of mission of MSF Operations search and Rescue, Jens Pagotto.

also pointed out that the survivors had been in the boat with the corpses for hours and “many of them were traumatized to talk about what happened.”

Finally he said that “it is still not exactly clear” the cause of death of these people.

From MSF noted that “it is necessary that such terrible events fail to occur once and for all.”

“The European Union (EU) can not continue to give back to the people who are putting their lives at sea to escape the violence, extreme poverty or persecution policies, “the organization said in a statement.

It also considered that the EU “can not and should not return them to Libya or to their countries of origin and must immediately resume their search and rescue operations”.

Italy, natural bridge between Africa and Europe, receives a large influx of immigrants from the northern coast of the African continent, especially from the Libyan coast.

Only Tuesday were rescued at sea while 567 people were around 3,200 yesterday.
