Parliament has approved a CUP motion urging the government to prohibit “acts of exaltation of the military and legitimization of violence” and not allow military parades in civilian areas “as an exercise in consistency with the values ​​of peace.”

the text also calls for the ban on military maneuvers in spaces that are not strictly military, as the mountain of Collserola and Montserrat, the sierra de la Albera and the towns of Sant Climent Sescebes and Talarn. The motion also urges the Executive to “avoid the presence of the army in any school and training” as well as “in educational and promotional spaces such as the Hall of Education and Hall Children, among others.” On this last point the PSC abstained.

At another point, it urged the government to “disavow the participation and presence of fighter aircraft to the Air Show, Party in Heaven, in any municipality in which to celebrate.” Nor do they want to “help” are granted to military weapons development oriented industry.

The motion was approved with the votes of Together for Yes, the CUP and Catalonia Yes you can. The PSC, meanwhile, has just voted in favor of the Generalitat claim the transfer of “military assets relating to property that is unused to destine them to public use civilian”.
