They are in Spain to 15 migrants hidden in scrap charge – Terra Peru

The Spanish police said Friday that 15 young migrants found hidden in a load of scrap metal was to be shipped in an enclave in North Africa for processing in mainland Spain.

Spokesmen for the Civil Guard stated that migrants apparently all minors, were discovered Thursday night during an inspection of the cargo at the port of Melilla.

An official, who spoke Friday on condition of anonymity according to regulations of the police, adding that the migrants were trying to reach Spain and possibly from there to elsewhere in Europe.

He said that no one was injured.

The agent said that another 58 young people seeking clandestinely board ships bound for different parts of Spain were found Thursday in the port.

Melilla is one of two Spanish enclaves surrounded by Morocco and the Mediterranean Sea.
