He entered May Lleida Seminary but was sent to the international seminar Bidasoa, in Pamplona run by the Prelature of Opus Dei, and the University of Navarra, where he completed a Bachelor of Sacred Theology, and in 1994, at the age of 28, he was sent to Rome to complete his studies where he obtained a licentiate in theology moral from the Pontifical Gregorian University. He was ordained priest on July 14, 1996 by Elias Yanes, being incardinated in the diocese of Zaragoza. From 1996 to 2000 he was assistant priest of the Parish “Santa Engracia” in Zaragoza.
