The Catalan government budget allocates 1,446,952 euros to pay the salaries of President Artur Mas and his twelve directors. An amount that exceeds 435,605 euros it costs the Government of the Nation.
Mariano Rajoy and his thirteen ministers earn between all 1,011,347 euros. Any member of the Catalan Executive charges more than the Prime Minister.
Artur Mas, according to data transparency portal of the Government, for the year 2012, entered 144,030.12 euros. That is, 65,845 euros more than Rajoy, up 45.7 percent.
The chief executive has a salary of 78,185.04 euros gross per year. The website of the Government, however, clarified that the deletion of a paid in 2012 reduced the remuneration of the Catalan president to 133,742 euros, so the difference Rajoy would be reduced to 55,557 euros.
But, as detailed Jaime G. Mora in ‘ABC’ is not the only Catalan Mas leader who charges more than the chief executive. Any of its twelve directors has a higher salary Rajoy. According to information from the Generalitat, these themselves have a salary of 108,576.84 euros.
