The Spanish government will propose today Consuelo Madrigal as state attorney general, first woman to occupy this position, replacing the resigned Eduardo Torres-Dulce, sources told Efe Executive.
The appointment of Consuelo Madrigal Martínez-Pereda must have the approval of the General Council of the Judiciary of government-organ of judges and magistrados- and Congress of Deputies, where the ruling Popular Party (PP) has an absolute majority.
The prosecutor, 58, meets the requirement of being a renowned Spanish lawyer with over 15 years of effective exercise of his profession, he has held since about 34 years ago.
