There are university activities that are not fully and services that have to do with the attention of students who do not take place due to lack of budget met, because when they get is very limited. This was stated by the Academic Vice Chancellor of the Central University of Venezuela (UCV), Amalio Belmonte.
“The resources this year to universities have been tragic, payment of the first half of this month was made with resources from the university, for the second half came late and the third also. Consequently, every time the university tries to pay the workers, employees and teachers, have difficulty because the government does not meet the payment schedule that is defined since last year, “so he said also sociologist.
Faced with the various problems affecting the country’s universities, Belmonte said they had warned since December last the little budget that had to cover the costs of universities this year, year and only reach for the first four months .
In view of this, resources have lasted a bit longer than expected thanks to some sacrifices made each autonomous university in the country. Therefore, the Vice Chancellor called on the government to take action in the matter.
Moreover, he explained that the government claims that some resources fail because the university does not make the procedures for requesting resources, what Belmonte said that is not true, because the State lends itself to hinder each procedure.
He recalled that in mobilizing Wednesday by university students, was shown to Deputy Minister of Higher Education, Andrés Eloy Ruiz, who alleged by the government in breach of applications from universities is false.
“The procedures are met, they even every day incorporate new factors hindering all proceedings; however, we meet with them, both the overall budget as student measures. (The government) starts to say and to state that we have been given a budget that does not run or can not receive it because we do not comply with the procedures, which is not true, “Belmonte said.
He stressed that it is the government who has not complied with the delivery of documents, as explained that when they deliver the necessary resources, inflation directly affects the amount of that budget, which lowers at the time of delivery.
